
The motocross season has started off with a bang for Tony Cairoli and the Sidi Sport colours. In spite of of his fever, the World Champion was a major player in the third round of the Italian Internationals of motocross.
The second-to-last act of the season hit the stage on Sunday, March 20th on the Cingoli circuit in the Marche region. Victory in the round went to Philippaerts, but Cairoli grabbed a third place in race 1 and a first place in race 2 to collect valuable points that moved him to the top of the overall championship standings.
Now the Sicilian pilot, who rides for Team KTM Red Bull De Carli Racing, is in the lead with 545 points. That's a 10 point advantage over his main adversary, Philippaerts and 15 points ahead of Frossard. These three pilots will in fact be vying for final victory, next Sunday on the Gazzanedi Presceglie circuit in Brescia . Every year the Italian Internationals become the proving grounds for Cairoli and the pilots from the SidiSport strongs, as they look forward to the World motocross season.
